Events Schedule

There will not be a class on May 29 due to the Memorial Day Holiday. Testing week will now be on June 5th at the normal class times.

New Classes in Wyoming Start on June 19

We are finishing up our current classes, and will start a new series on June 19th at Ascension & Holy Trinity Church in Wyoming. We need to follow the CDC guidelines in order to use the space. Therefore, class/attendee size is very limited. We are having 2 classes every Saturday morning. The first class starts at 8:30 am and will be held outside. Class size is limited to 10 people. The second class will be inside and is limited to 8 people. This means one trainer with their dog - we can't allow attendees to bring guests at this time, except for the outdoor class. It also means that we can't invite current members to stop in for networking or a refresher.

Steve has set up a registration for the two classes in Sign Up Genius. These links must be used in order to reserve a space. Registering for the first class will also register attendees for the entire 8 week session. There is a link to our registration form and other rules provided by the church. Payment must be made at the first class. Please share the links and other information with anyone you know that might be interested.

If possible, please print the Membership Form which can be found at the bottom of the Training, Policies, Forms & FAQs tab on the website and bring it to the first class.

Please contact Steve Bader with any questions (Contact Information).

Therapy classes offered through Allison Camp of Pups Unleashed in Anderson Twp. are currently on hold due to COVID-19.

Watch this space for updates.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Village of Eastgate: Formerly Eastgate Village, this facility is located at 776 Cincinnati-Batavia Pike near Eastgate Mall. They are looking for teams to make visits. We are getting additional information from them, but if you are interested please contact Diana Dawson (dbd0002003@gmail.com).

Mercy Anderson Hospital: The hospital is now open for therapy dogs and would like to have more therapy teams visit. You will need to attend a volunteer orientation at the hospital, and must provide your dog's shot records and proof of their Canine Good Citizen certification. You can contact the hospital directly at 513-624-4676 and talk with Tracy Taylor of Jennifer. Please let Diana Dawson (dbd0002003@gmail.com) know if you begin visits so that we can update the list of facilities we visit.

Carlisle Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab: This facility is located in Carlisle Ohio and would like to have visits from some of our teams. You can contact Dawn Nickoson on her cell at 937-746-2662, or by email at activities@ehcarlisle.net. If you begin visits please let Diana know.

Recovery Center of Hamilton County: They are having a picnic on May 28th at 12340 Auburn Avenue and would like to have 4 teams of small dogs make a visit. We would need to be there from 12:30 - 1:30 pm and are invited to take part in lunch. Please let Diana Dawson (dbd0002003@gmail.com) know if you can participate.

Joseph House: This organization has requested a couple of teams to visit every Monday at 2:00 pm. We have two teams that have volunteered, but if we can get some additional teams it would be possible to rotate so that the same teams aren't committed to a visit each week. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please contact John Connor (Contact Information).

There are still quite a few facilities that are not open for therapy visits yet. If you were making visits and are interested in starting back, please contact them directly to see if they are open yet.

Dues Payments

Membership dues should be paid in February of each year. Dues are $50 per year and provide us with the ability to continue to have the funds needed to pay our insurance premium. The insurance covers you, your pet, and the locations we visit. We would not be able to provide this important benefit to our members without your annual dues payment. Checks can be made payable to Canines for Christ of Greater Cincinnati, and mailed to Steve Bader, 3121 Benninghofen Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45015. If you have any questions, please contact Steve (Contact Information).

Please watch our Facebook page for weather related updates regarding our class schedule.  Cancellations due to winter weather will also be listed on the Fox19 Closings & Delays website.
