VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy: CHCA has requested 3 - 5 teams in October and December to visit with their students. We have been doing this for a couple of years and the kids really enjoy it. They are looking at October 6th or 7th and December 6th or 7th. No time has been specified yet, but they usually have us come in around lunchtime. Please contact John Connor (Contact Information) to let him know if you would be available on any of these dates. Once we finalize dates we will get back to our volunteers with more details. CHCA is located at 8283 East Kemper Road.

North Elementary School in Mt. Healthy is looking for a few teams to visit their school on either Tuesday or Thursday mornings. Please contact John Connor (Contact Information) if you would like to make visits to this school.

Village of Eastgate: Formerly Eastgate Village, this facility is located at 776 Cincinnati-Batavia Pike near Eastgate Mall. They are looking for teams to make visits. As of 8/24/2021 we are still waiting for additional information from them, but if you are interested please contact Diana Dawson (dbd0002003@gmail.com).

Mercy Anderson Hospital: The hospital is now open for therapy dogs and would like to have more therapy teams visit. You will need to attend a volunteer orientation at the hospital, and must provide your dog's shot records and proof of their Canine Good Citizen certification. You can contact the hospital directly at 513-624-4676 and talk with Tracy Taylor of Jennifer. Please let Diana Dawson (dbd0002003@gmail.com) know if you begin visits so that we can update the list of facilities we visit.

Carlisle Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab: This facility is located in Carlisle Ohio and would like to have visits from some of our teams. You can contact Dawn Nickoson on her cell at 937-746-2662, or by email at activities@ehcarlisle.net. If you begin visits please let Diana know.

Joseph House for Veterans: This organization has requested a couple of teams to visit every Monday at 2:00 pm. We have two teams that have volunteered, but if we can get some additional teams it would be possible to rotate so that the same teams aren't committed to a visit each week. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information, please contact John Connor (Contact Information).

There are still quite a few facilities that are not open for therapy visits yet. If you were making visits and are interested in starting back, please contact them directly to see if they are open yet.

Dues Payments

Membership dues should be paid in February of each year. Dues are $50 per year and provide us with the ability to continue to have the funds needed to pay our insurance premium. The insurance covers you, your pet, and the locations we visit. We would not be able to provide this important benefit to our members without your annual dues payment. Checks can be made payable to Canines for Christ of Greater Cincinnati, and mailed to Steve Bader, 3121 Benninghofen Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45015. If you have any questions, please contact Steve (Contact Information).

Please watch our Facebook page for weather related updates regarding our class schedule. Cancellations due to winter weather will also be listed on the Fox19 Closings & Delays website.
