In Loving Memory of Ellie
Black Labrador · 2015–2025
Ellie rescued our family in 2015, and from that moment on, she filled our lives—and the lives of countless others—with joy, love, and companionship. Ten years wasn’t nearly enough, but every day with her was a gift.
A loyal friend with a heart tuned to comfort, Ellie loved children and greeted every person as if they were already her friend. She volunteered faithfully with Canines for Christ, bringing calm and connection to classrooms, community events, and residents at the Lodge on Montgomery Road. Her gentle presence made even the hardest days feel lighter.
Ellie
When she wasn’t serving, Ellie was happiest on a trail, nose to the wind, leading the way on hikes. At home, she was our comic relief—never meeting a trash can (motion sensor or not!) she couldn’t outsmart, and always volunteering to “pre-wash” any plate left within reach.
Ellie lived her mission with quiet devotion: to love, to comfort, and to bring people together. She did all of that and more. Our hearts are forever marked by her pawprints.
Well done, sweet girl. Thank you for rescuing us.
Charlotte
In Loving Memory of Charlotte
Beloved Therapy Dog & Cherished Companion
July 24, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the sudden passing of Charlotte, our sweet and gentle therapy dog, on July 24th, 2025. Charlotte was more than a pet—she was a calming presence, a warm soul, and a true friend to many.
Through her work as a therapy dog, Charlotte brought comfort, joy, and a sense of peace to countless lives. Whether it was lifting the spirits of corporate teams working the late shift on dreary winter nights, offering moments of calm to high school students navigating exam stress, or bringing smiles to residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities—Charlotte had a gift for knowing just who needed her most. Her visits to Mercy Clermont Hospital were especially meaningful, and the love she shared in those quiet moments will never be forgotten.
At home, Charlotte was our heart. Our cul-de-sac will feel emptier without her friendly face and gentle demeanor. She was a special soul—deeply intuitive, endlessly kind, and impossible to forget. Charlotte’s presence made our world softer, kinder, and more connected.
She leaves behind paw prints on the hearts of everyone she met. We are grateful for the time we had with her, and she will be missed more than words can express.
Rest well, sweet Charlotte. You were truly one of a kind.
Tillie
In addition to being a faithful companion to our family and her human siblings Ellie and Luke, Tillie was a Canines for Christ Therapy dog for many years until her arthritis prevented her from walking too much. She loved people, and loved giving them love and affection. She served in countless nursing homes, hospitals and schools. She truly loved all people just as Christ loves all of us.
Sasha
Sasha was one of the first Therapy Dogs in Canines for Christ. She loved to work, doing therapy and especially helping me train. Sasha was instrumental in my education of dog behaviors. Through the lessons she taught me she will live on. Thank you Sasha!
